You probably have questions

It is incredibly important to me as a photographer that you feel completely comfortable with me before our session together. This is especially true since I’m going to be caring for the most important little person in your world, even if it is only for a short time.

That being said – hopefully the information here can help give you a more in depth idea of what I do, and make you feel comfortable! If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and ask. I would absolutely love to hear from you!

When should you book your session?

I highly recommend contacting me at least 1-2 months before your due date. That give us time to plan and to make sure your due date is save on my calendar. The closer it gets the less flexibility I may have.

How much do sessions cost?

You’ve only got a small time frame to get those amazing newborn photos. So make sure you choose a photographer you trust (who’s also insured and safety trained) and who has a style you LOVE. The value is not only in the quality of your images (because that’s suuuuper important) but also in having a photographer that you can be comfortable around, and that has spent years and years training in posing, safety, shooting and editing. I currently only offer one very simple all-inclusive collection for $1200 (which includes your session and full digital gallery). Payment plans are always available and flexible, and don’t forget to ask about Baby Plans (multiple session packages), Military and First Responder discounts.

How long does a session last?

Sessions can last anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 hours, but you can pretty much count on it being around the 3 hour mark. Calming and getting your little one nice and sleepy can take time, if you prefer a shorter session, I would recommend going with a Lifestyle Session (no posing, just you and your little one) which would last around 1.5 hours.

What do I need to bring to my session?

Definitely don’t forget your baby! All joking aside, you’ll want to bring extra formula or whatever you need to be comfortable breastfeeding. Babies tend to be extra hungry during sessions. Also feel free to bring a plain onesie, just in case we need it. I also highly recommend a pacifier, it can help me be able to sooth your little much easier while they’re settling into a prop. And finally, feel free to bring anything that is special to you like grandma’s handmade blanket or a special headband or your wedding veil. But please try to stay away from bringing any major props or costumes, I really do supply everything we’ll need for gorgeous photos.

What if my baby is fussy?

Babies are fussy. It happens. The best thing to do is remain calm. Easier said than done, right? Newborn sessions can take around 3 hours and, honestly, most of that time is spent shushing, rocking, feeding and changing. Fussiness is just something that I show up expecting. Few babies are perfectly quiet, most take at least a little effort to settle in.

Can I show you my Pinterest board?
I love that you’re excited and have some ideas, but as a creative with a distinct style I hope that you will trust my vision. Feel free to go through my portfolio and choose any props, wraps, colors or full set ups that you love! I can absolutely bring specific things, but I prefer to focus on creating something totally unique to your little one.
Do you take family photos?

I am currently only offering photos of your sweet little newborn bundles by themselves.

What if my baby doesn't have perfect skin?

Fun fact: most babies don’t have perfect skin. I have over 15 years of expirience with photoshop, and I use that skill to give your baby that beautiful newborn glow! I do however usually leave some milia alone, since I think it’s adorable!

Do you choose our location, or do we?

Most sessions are now held at my home garden studio in Lehigh Acres (33976). However you can absolutely choose a different location for an additional travel fee. My favorites are Koreshan, Baker Park, Lakes Park, and Bowditch Beach. Each session is held completely at a single location. Many of  my clients have meaningful spots of their own which I’m totally there for! Even your own backyard probably has a few little areas you didn’t even know existed!

How long does it take to receive our completed galleries?

Digital Galleries are delivered in 2 weeks. Prints, albums and wall art take up to 6 weeks after you choose your images.

What if I lose my images? Do you keep a copy?

I guarantee to have your photos backed up for a year. I do keep them after that (in fact I have galleries from over 10 years ago), but due to things like hard drive failures I can not guarantee gallery archives after 1 year. Please make sure you back up for files! Backblaze is a great super affordable option for backup.

What if the weather is bad?

If the weather is bad, do not worry! I’ll be in touch with you a day or two before your scheduled session and we make the final call about 2 hours before your session time. We can push it out a day or two OR I can easily come to you a we can create beautiful memories right in your very own home. And I totally understand a messy home (I have two boys), but never fear! In-home sessions are totally focused on you and your little, not the chaos of baby gear.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Sickness and weather reschedules are always accommodated with no extra fees. However a no-show (ie- you forget or fail to contact me prior to your session) will result in a forfeiture of your session fee. In short – contact me if you, or your little one is sick, and we will reschedule your session!

What if my child gets sick shortly before our scheduled session?

No problem at all. Just let me know preferably an hour or more before our session, and we can reschedule. I’ve got two littles of my own, I know it happens.

What makes me qualified to do this?

I’ve been handling newborns my entire life, from my own siblings to baby sitting to my own children and exclusively with clients since 2015. I have my Bachelors of Fine Art in Photography and Digital Imaging and have been shooting professionally since 2007. I taught photography and Photoshop for 3 years at a photography center in the heart of Chicago, and I’ve taught privately one-on-one since 2010. I am registered to do business in Lee County Florida and have a full coverage insurance policy through RV Nuccio & Associates. I am trained in infant safety and CPR. As of January 2019, I am a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula proudly through Stillbirthday.

Do you photograph anything else?

I do offer other sessions (families, milestones, etc) to clients who have previously worked with me. I am not currently taking on new clients outside of Newborns or Births, however maternity sessions may be booked in addition to a Newborn session. Contact me for more info.

Caitlyn really went above and beyond for us. From the moment we made the plans for our photos to the very last detail. I knew she did beautiful work but we were seriously blown away by our finished product. The girl is talented! No question whether or not we will use her in the future.
